Vintage Beni Ourain tapijten zijn met de hand geweven door de Berberstammen uit het Midden-Atlasgebergte in Marokko. Met een prachtige weelderige pool van natuurlijke, ongeverfde wol, bonte ruitjespatronen en speelse kleurenpieken zijn deze tribale tapijten een fascinerende visie van geweven schoonheid. De symbolen op elk Beni Ourain tapijt dienden een quasi-magisch en religieus doel om het leven in stand te houden. Vrouwelijke symbolen zijn onder andere de chevron, de ruit en de X-vorm, terwijl mannelijke symbolen de vorm hebben van lange rechte lijnen die meestal te vinden zijn op de buitenste delen van het tapijt. Meestal zijn de mannelijke en vrouwelijke symbolen naast elkaar geweven of met elkaar verbonden om de reproductieve eenheid weer te geven.
