General Terms and Conditions

Article 1 - Identity of the entrepreneur

Article 2 - Applicability

  1. These terms and conditions apply to all offers made by Houseify and to all distance contracts between Houseify and the consumer.
  2. These terms and conditions will be made available to you before the contract is concluded, so that you can save them on a durable medium. They can also be viewed at any time on this page.
  3. If a provision is void or voidable, the remaining provisions shall remain in force and the provision in question shall be replaced by a valid provision with the same effect.

Article 3 - The offer

  1. An offer contains a full and accurate description of the product, enabling you to make an informed decision. Houseify is not bound by any obvious mistakes or errors.
  2. Our rugs are largely handmade. The images are a true representation, but the colour, pattern and size may vary slightly; minor variations are a characteristic of handcrafted work and do not constitute a fault.
  3. All offers are subject to availability.

Article 4 - Prices

  1. All prices are shown for consumers including VAT.
  2. Delivery within Europe is free; there are no additional delivery charges for you. Any other costs will be clearly stated before you complete your order.
  3. In the case of a promotional offer, we use as the “from” price the lowest price at which the product was offered in the 30 days prior to the promotion (Omnibus Directive / Price Act). We do not use misleading reference prices.
  4. Prices will not be increased during the validity period of the offer, unless there is a change in the VAT rate.

Article 5 - The agreement

  1. The contract is formed when you accept the offer by completing your order via the button “Order with a payment obligation” and to make the payment.
  2. Houseify will confirm your order immediately by email.
  3. Houseify may, within the limits of the law, check whether you are able to meet your payment obligations and may refuse an order on valid grounds.

Article 6 - Payment and down payment

  1. Payment can be made using the payment methods available on the online shop: iDEAL/WERO, Bancontact, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Klarna.
  2. For made-to-measure rugs, a a deposit of up to 50% of the purchase price (Section 7:26(2) of the Dutch Civil Code); the balance is payable before dispatch. You can never be required to pay more than 50% in advance.

Article 7 - Delivery and execution

  1. Houseify processes orders with the utmost care.
  2. The delivery times stated are approximate. The maximum delivery period is 30 days, unless expressly agreed otherwise. If delivery cannot be made within that period, you will be informed and you may cancel the contract free of charge.
  3. The risk of damage or loss only passes to you once you (or a third party designated by you) have received the product.
  4. Deliveries are made via PostNL, FedEx or a regional carrier, and are insured and tracked. See also our Delivery Policy.

Article 8 - Right of withdrawal

  1. You have 14-day cooling-off period for distance selling (Art. 6:230o BW), calculated from the day after receipt of the product. Houseify voluntarily applies a longer cooling-off period of 30 days after receipt.
  2. Houseify provides the statutory model withdrawal form available in a durable medium (PDF attached to the order confirmation). From 19 June 2026, you will also be able to cancel via a cancellation button in your account.
  3. If Houseify fails to provide you with the correct information regarding your right of withdrawal, the cooling-off period will be extended by up to 12 months (Section 6:230o(2) of the Dutch Civil Code).
  4. Exception: bespoke orders: For rugs that are manufactured specifically to your specifications outside our standard selection menu, no right of withdrawal applies (Section 6:230p(f) of the Dutch Civil Code). If you choose from our standard range (size/colour from a list), you retain your full right of withdrawal. The full terms and conditions are set out in our Returns policy.

Article 9 - Conformity and warranty

  1. You are entitled to a product that meets what you can reasonably expect from it (Section 7:17 of the Dutch Civil Code).
  2. Houseify is your point of contact as a seller and solely responsible for compliance; you will never be referred to the manufacturer or supplier.
  3. During the first 12 months following delivery, the burden of proof is reversed: a defect is presumed to have existed at the time of delivery, unless Houseify proves otherwise.

Article 10 - Complaints and disputes

  1. Please report any complaints via info@houseify.com; you will receive a detailed response within 5 working days. See also Complaints & disputes.
  2. Every contract is Dutch law shall apply; the applicability of the Vienna Sales Convention (CISG) is excluded.
  3. Disputes may be brought before the competent Dutch court. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Article 11 - Liability

  1. Houseify’s liability is limited to the provisions set out in these terms and conditions. Houseify shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss.
  2. For consumers, these restrictions apply only to the extent permitted under Section 7:24(2) of the Dutch Civil Code; your mandatory consumer rights remain fully intact.

Article 12 - Force Majeure

  1. Houseify shall not be liable for non-performance if it is prevented from doing so by force majeure (including disruptions at suppliers, transport problems, government measures, power or internet outages, and natural disasters).
  2. If the force majeure lasts for more than two months, either party may terminate the agreement without being liable for damages.

Article 13 - Intellectual property

All content on houseify.com (text, photos, videos, logos and design) is the property of Houseify or its licensors and may not be reproduced without written permission. See Intellectual property & notifications.

Houseify handles your personal data with care in accordance with the Privacy Statement and the Cookie Policy.
