Which Berber rug goes with your furniture?

A Berber rug It is not a standard product. A light-coloured Beni Ouarain has a different effect in a room than a colourful Azilal. That is why we don’t start with the rug, but with your situation: what’s already there, and what do you want the rug to achieve?

Light-coloured wood, linen and plain furniture

A light-coloured Beni Ouarain rug looks great in a Scandinavian or Japandi interior. Its geometric pattern adds texture to the floor without making the room feel cluttered.

  • Hugo: beige, 150 x 100 cm, for a hallway, by a bed or next to an armchair.
  • Reza: beige, 270 x 145 cm, a larger size to fit under a coffee table.

A splash of colour in the sitting area

An Azilal rug adds a splash of colour to a room with neutral furniture. As the patterns vary from rug to rug, the individual design determines how the rug looks in the room.

  • Houda: multicoloured, 150 x 100 cm, a splash of colour and pattern.
  • Youssef: beige, 150 x 100 cm, a more subdued Azilal.

Dark or vintage furniture

A textured rug goes well with heavy furniture. Do bear in mind the thickness: check the pile height and thickness if you want to place the rug partly underneath heavy furniture. Are you looking for a warm, deep shade? Then take a look at rugs in red, brown or purple, such as those shown below.

  • Mila: Beni Ouarain, red, 150 x 100 cm.
  • Hassan: Azilal, brown, 165 x 101 cm.
  • Finn: Beni Ouarain, purple, 150 x 100 cm.

There’s already some colour in the room

A Boujaad is an accent rug. If you’ve already incorporated colour into your interior, choose a Boujaad that features one of those shades.

  • Fatima: multicoloured, 300 x 200 cm, a large rug for a spacious seating area.
  • Ayoub: beige, 300 x 200 cm, in the same size.

The size determines the result

Whichever type you choose, make sure the front legs of the sofa are on the rug, and leave 15 to 45 cm of floor visible between the rug and the wall. You can find an overview for each room in the size guide. If you’d like to choose colours by shade, please see beige, white or multicoloured.
