All about this product
Description
This black and white BENI rug is traditionally hand-knotted using nothing but 100% wool. Made by Moroccan artisans, to preserve its quality and softness, the rug is traditionally washed with soap and then sun-dried. This process ensures a pleasant and soft texture. Only one copy of each rug is available, making it unique.
Since this rug is handmade, it is possible that it contains certain imperfections. The dimensions of this rug are 153 x 100 cm.
Maintenance
With proper care, your black Soukaina Beni Ouarain rug will last for years. Keep it simple:
- Vacuuming once a week with a smooth nozzle and no rotating brush.
- Blot stains immediately using a clean, slightly damp cloth, and never rub.
- A few times a year to ensure even wear.
- Avoid: harsh cleaning products and prolonged exposure to strong sunlight.
Material recommendations
- Wool: naturally stain-resistant and hard-wearing; regular vacuuming is usually sufficient, and stains can be easily dabbed away.
This is how you keep the colors and fibers of your black Soukaina Beni Ouarain rug in optimal condition for years.

Fast delivery and the quality you’d expect!
I bought a beautiful Berber rug from Houseify. The delivery took a bit of doing, but everything worked out in the end and I was compensated with a small gift. I dealt with the logistics planner, who was very customer-friendly. I’d definitely recommend them 👍. I’m very satisfied, anyway.
Good quality, beautifully finished and comfortable to wear.
Good to know
Based on three things. Turn the rug over: with handmade work, you see the individual knots on the back, not one uniformly woven surface. The fringes are an extension of the fabric itself, not sewn on afterwards. And thanks to natural lanolin, the wool has a slightly oily, lively texture that you do not feel in polyester imitations. Slight irregularities in the pattern are not a flaw, but proof that a human made it.
A Beni Ouarain has an ivory white base with subtle black diamond or check patterns and a high, soft pile; it is timeless and minimalist. An Azilal comes from the High Atlas and is, on the other hand, expressive: an ivory base with colorful, free patterns in which each rug tells its own story. Beni Ouarain suits sleek and modern styles, while Azilal suits bohemian and eclectic styles.
For a 3-seater sofa, 200×300 cm is the standard: the front legs of your furniture will then rest just on the rug. For a corner sofa or large dining table, 240×340 cm or 300×400 cm works better. In the bedroom, 170×240 cm suffices next to a double bed; in the hallway, choose a runner or a size up to 150×200 cm.
Yes. Wool conducts heat well and is suitable for underfloor heating, as long as you build up the temperature gradually and do not set it to extremely high. The pile provides slight insulation, so it takes a little longer for the heat to come through, but once it does, the rug retains the heat beautifully.
With proper care, decades. Atlas wool is naturally strong and resilient, and because the fringes and knots are part of the weave, nothing comes loose. Many Berber rugs last a generation or longer and become more beautiful with age: the color becomes richer and the pile softer.
Vacuum weekly without a rotating brush, preferably in the direction of the pile. Turn the rug over occasionally so that wear is distributed evenly. Dab a stain immediately with a damp cloth; never rub. Do not wash in a washing machine; for deep cleaning, hire a laundry service experienced in hand-knotted wool.
Orders are processed within 1–2 business days and then delivered in 4–8 days, or 5–10 business days at the latest. For our two own Berber rugs, the following applies: ordered before 17:00, shipped the same day. You will always receive track & trace.
You can return within 30 days of receipt, from any country and without any hassle, as long as the product is unused and in its original condition. Email info@houseify.com and we will assist you quickly and personally.
