I found a beautiful and unique rug. Friendly customer service. It took a while to arrive, as it had to be shipped from its country of origin. It was well worth the wait. Highly recommended!!
Good, prompt communication and they really think things through with you. Brilliant🤍 and a little gift in the post for writing a review. Which shop still does that these days?!
They’re very helpful when you ask questions by email and really think things through with you!
Delivered quickly, good fabric.
Fast delivery and the quality you’d expect!
I bought a beautiful Berber rug from Houseify. The delivery took a bit of doing, but everything worked out in the end and I was compensated with a small gift. I dealt with the logistics planner, who was very customer-friendly. I’d definitely recommend them 👍. I’m very satisfied, anyway.
I ordered the rug on the website; it’s made of good-quality material.
A lovely rug and delivered quickly👌👍
I don’t usually write reviews, but my bronze puma is simply fantastic. When I got in touch with Houseify via the chatbot, they explained everything to me about the material and quality of the product. For an online shop that’s only been around for a year, you’re doing a fantastic job.
Maintenance
With proper care, your pink Bianca Kelim rug will last for years. Keep it simple:
- Vacuuming once a week with a smooth nozzle and no rotating brush.
- Blot stains immediately using a clean, slightly damp cloth, and never rub.
- A few times a year to ensure even wear.
- Avoid: harsh cleaning products and prolonged exposure to strong sunlight.
Material recommendations
- Wool: naturally stain-resistant and hard-wearing; regular vacuuming is usually sufficient, and stains can be easily dabbed away.
This is how you keep the colors and fibers of your pink Bianca Kelim rug in optimal condition for years.

Good to know
The word kilim derives from Persian via Turkish glued, a term referring to a flat-woven rug. Kilim is an alternative spelling. Certain Moroccan flat-woven fabrics are also known as hanbel used.
Examine the weave structure, the front and back, and the finish of the edges. With a flat-woven kilim, the pattern is often visible on both sides. Minor differences in shape and finish are a natural part of handcrafted work. The product information provides further details about the origin and characteristics of the individual rug.
Not always. In the case of a kilim woven with the slit weave Due to the nature of the weaving technique, small openings may appear along vertical colour boundaries. These result from the way in which the weft threads reverse direction during a colour change.
Motifs found in Anatolian weaving traditions, amongst others, are sometimes associated with fertility, strength or protection. The meaning varies depending on the region and context. A diamond or hook shape alone therefore does not reveal with certainty where a rug comes from or what the weaver intended by it.
A kilim is flat-woven and has no pile. Many Berber rugs In fact, they have a knotted, soft pile. As a result, the rugs vary in thickness, texture and feel underfoot.
| Type of rug | Structure | Maintenance | Price (approximate) | Sustainability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kelim | Flat-woven, no pile, thin | Vacuum both sides, gently dab any stains | Low to medium | Moderate to high, depending on the material |
| Berber | Knotted pile, thicker | Vacuum on a low setting; avoid using the rotating brush | Moderate to high | High, because the pile protects against wear and tear |
| Rolling tobacco | High, loose pile | Vacuum gently without dragging the rug; have stains professionally cleaned | Moderate to high | Limited; the pile may start to shed more quickly |
| Oriental | Hand-knotted, dense weave | Vacuum with a soft brush; have stains treated professionally | High | Very high, as the knotting technique is hard-wearing |
Vacuum the kilim regularly on both sides on a low setting, without the rotating brush. Gently blot up any spilled liquids and, for stain removal, follow the care instructions for the specific product. It is best to have large or stubborn stains professionally cleaned.
A thin, flat-woven kilim may be suitable for underfloor heating, provided the thickness and material composition are appropriate. A thin, non-pile rug retains less heat than a thick, knotted rug. You should also check the suitability of any anti-slip mat and the specifications of your underfloor heating system.
Yes. The flat weave makes for a practical base for chairs. Choose a size that ensures the chairs remain on the rug even after being pulled up to the table and when people stand up.
A vintage kilim is a second-hand, flat-woven rug. Wear and tear, repairs, discolouration and the condition of the fringes vary from piece to piece. You should therefore always check the photos and product description of the rug you are interested in.
