Berber rugs from the Moroccan Atlas
A Berber rug is a family of hand-knotted rugs woven by Amazigh tribes in North Africa, with a rich history that goes back generations. The Berber tribes in the Atlas Mountains have become the most internationally known, and their work forms the basis of our collection today. Each region has its own style, pattern, and color palette.

Recognizing an authentic Berber carpet
A real handmade Berber rug has slight irregularities in the pattern (proof of craftsmanship), visible individual nodes on the back, and fringes that are part of the fabric itself and not stitched on afterwards. Atlas wool as a material has a slightly greasy texture due natural lanolin, something you won't see or feel with polyester imitations.
Why a Berber rug from Houseify
We import our rugs directly via Moroccan-Dutch suppliers with deep roots in the Atlas weaving regions. No middlemen, no showroom margins, and every rug is personally checked here in the Netherlands before shipping.
Choose a Berber rug that adds warmth and comfort to your interior, with a look you won't find in other rugs. Our suppliers are affiliated with Care & Fair, in return for child labor in the carpet industry.
