Beschrijving

Moroccan leather chairs are a fantastic addition to your home and can give it a vintage and refined look, making your interior special and remarkable.

These poufs are not just pieces of furniture; they are a fusion of art and furniture. They are made of 100% genuine soft goatskin, with the exception of the authentic leather sourced from Morocco.

After obtaining the leather, the process begins with hand-painting, followed by drying it under the scorching sun of Marrakech, hand-cutting, and hand-sewing. Finally, the poufs are sent to the outskirts of Marrakech, where skilled local Berber women apply silk embroidery to showcase their expertise and creativity.

Six people are involved in the creation of each pouf, which takes a full day, guaranteeing the highest quality and craftsmanship in every piece.

Onderhoud

With proper care, this Moroccan pouf, handcrafted from authentic Moroccan leather, will last for decades. Below you will find our maintenance guidelines.

Daily maintenance

  • Vacuum weekly using suction power only. Avoid beating brushes or rotating brushes, which can damage the fibers.
  • Turn the rug over for a few hours once a month so that trapped dust can fall out.
  • Shake or beat the rug outside occasionally to fluff the pile and remove dust.

Removing stains

  • Blot up spilled liquid immediately with a clean cloth. Never rub, and work from the outside in.
  • For light stains, cold water on a damp cloth is usually sufficient.
  • For more stubborn stains, you can use a wool-safe cleaner or a mixture of baking soda and white vinegar. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
  • Avoid hydrogen peroxide and bleach, as these can discolor and damage wool fibers.

Thorough cleaning

  • Clean the rug thoroughly approximately every 6 months, more often in areas with heavy foot traffic.
  • Steam cleaning is possible, provided you do not soak the rug. Let it dry completely before walking on it.
  • For valuable or handmade woolen Berber rugs, professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months is safest.

Prevention

  • Keep the rug out of direct sunlight to prevent discoloration.
  • Tackle loose threads early. Cut them off, do not pull them.
  • Turn the rug over occasionally for even wear.
